Who We Are

Three brands, more than 40 offices and a geographical footprint that spans the UK. Unsurprisingly, our people boast a diverse range of skills, ideas and backgrounds.

Des O’Connor
Group CEO
Des has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years having started out in the Reinsurance and Wholesale markets in London. Prior to joining the Bravo Group, he was MD of Gallagher Schemes & Affinity Division for eight years, and has also worked in a significant private equity backed insurance brokerage. In December 2018, Des moved into the Group CEO role, overseeing all three brands within the Bravo Group.
Simon Drew
Group Chief Financial Officer
Simon Drew joined the Group in July 2015. A qualified accountant, Simon has spent the past 15 years in large global corporates such as Aon and Crawford & Company as well as private equity and venture capital backed insurance brokerages. Positions within the industry have covered Finance & Administration as a board director as well as Strategic Global M&A. Prior to his period in insurance, Simon spent 13 years in pan European logistics with both DFDS and P&O.
Jaime Swindle
Managing Director of Networks and Products
With a firm foundation in the broking world, Jaime’s 20+ year insurance career has taken her from Countrywide Network and Misys which was once Broker Network  to build a profile across the industry before returning to the fold. Specialising in eTrade products and systems for AXA and ACE European Group (CHUBB), Jaime also led NIG’s eTrade strategy where she was responsible for the build and launch of the insurer’s market-leading platform, managing the eTrade business and creating the National Trading Centre in Manchester. At Bravo Group, Jaime has overall accountability for driving the performance of our Networks as well as product development across Broker Network, Compass and Broker Network Underwriting.
Bethanny Ash
Group Communications Director
Having worked in financial and professional services for over 10 years, Beth joined Broker Network in 2013 from a global legal practice, where she delivered media relations and marketing for the UK and Europe. Beth has a vast range of communications experience planning and executing marketing strategies, in addition to promoting businesses and their people via a range of traditional and innovative media.
Clare Wakeford
Group HR Director
Clare Wakeford joined Broker Network in 2017, bringing with her over 20 years’ experience of People and Talent Management across a number of business sectors. Actively leading the HR strategy, Clare has held senior HR positions across Financial Services, Insurance, Retail and Private Medical businesses, including mergers, acquisition and change management.
Richard Tuplin
Ethos Broking Managing Director
Richard joined Ethos Broking in 2018, having worked as an independent broker for over 18 years, holding various roles including MD of Jelf Insurance Partnership (formerly TIP) and latterly Regional Director for Jelf Insurance Brokers. Richard’s role sees him working with the Group’s acquired brokers to help them develop and drive their commercial plans as well as supporting on any planned future acquisitions.
Susan Adcock
Group Chief Operations Officer
Susan joined the Group in August 2016 to integrate regional partners into the newly formed acquisition arm of the business. She has extensive experience in the general insurance industry fulfilling roles from Commercial Underwriting, Sales, Operational Management through to managing large transformation programmes with Aviva, Friends Life, Brightside Insurance Group and latterly Broker Network.
Jane Bean
Chief Risk Officer
Jane Bean has previously held senior management roles and director positions, as well as operating at Board level, with businesses including UK General Insurance Limited and  Bluefin Insurance Group. She brings with her extensive experience of designing and establishing effective risk and compliance frameworks, as well as overseeing major regulatory transformation programmes.
