The month we’ve seen acquisitions, award nominations, and a reflection on the first six months into a new role. Here is what the press were saying about Bravo Group in April.
Jaime Swindle reflects on changes and constants in her first press interview
When our MD of Networks and Products Jaime Swindle took on the role at the beginning of the year, she didn’t anticipate a pandemic in her first 6 months.
In her first official interview since joining Bravo, she spoke to Insurance Business UK; reflecting on how the past few weeks have brought potential development areas into sharp focus while highlighting business strengths.
Despite the “baptism of fire” the crisis presented, Jaime tells the press that the business has quickly adapted,
“The fact that we’ve been able to keep our services going, that we’ve been able to get everybody into home-working, and that we’ve got all of their tech set up means it’s almost business as usual,” she said. “And everyone’s getting used to the new normal, but we’re also making sure that everything we’re doing is keeping our brokers moving and our insurers trading, and their customers are hopefully getting the benefit of all of the work that we’re doing behind the scenes.”
Finch continues business as usual with 11th acquisition
Despite operating in an uncertain period, Ethos Broker Finch Group announced the acquisition of Portsmouth-based independent broker, Hughes & King. The Compass member, led by director Roy Blackburn who will take over as commercial manager, was founded in 1988 manages £4m in commercial GWP.
Speaking of their latest purchase, Ethos Broking M&A director and former MD of Finch Group, Vince Gardner said,
“We have known Roy and his team for many years and know they have a strong reputation in South East Hampshire. Hughes & King is an extremely well-run brokerage, with high standards, close client relationships and an energetic team. All of which fit with our culture and values.”
Bravo Group CEO Des O’Connor said this was just one of a strong M&A pipeline which will become apparent in the coming months.
“Bravo Group is a financially strong, resilient and stable business that will continue to build on its well proven track record,” he said.
Double BIA shortlist
Insurance Post recently announced the shortlist for their BIA ceremony, which has been postponed from July to October.
Bravo Group made the nominations for two categories, one for Brand Management, and the other for Investing in the Profession, an award already claimed by the Learning and Development Team at the Albert Hall event in 2019.
